Operation Vacation Yagatta Regatta May, 2010
Yagatta Regatta rafting teams compete to finish first while raising money to support Operation Vacation, a grassroots, non-profit whose purpose is to reunite deserving soldiers with their families on free vacations in the Roaring Fork Valley and elsewhere. 113th Annual Strawberry Days June 18 - 20, 2010
Colorado’s oldest civic celebration takes place at Sayre (Strawberry) Park. Highlights include the crowning of Miss Strawberry Days, top-notch entertainment, a myriad of artisans and food booths, a Kidsfest with a petting zoo, rides and quality children’s entertainment, and, of course, free strawberries and ice cream. Strawberry Shortcut Race June 20, 2010
This classic “festival” race coincides with the annual Strawberry Days celebration. The 10K begins at 7am, 5K at 8:15 and the 1-Mile Fun Run at 9:30. Prizes go to the fastest, but there’s plenty of fun to go around for everyone. Race starts at Centennial Park located at 9th and Grand Avenue.

Reminiscent of the drive-in theater, Two Rivers Park is transformed in to a free outdoor movie night. Block buster movies are shown on a huge 13’x 24’ screen. Holiday Lighting Ceremony November 26, 2010
The holiday season officially starts with the traditional lighting of the historic Hotel Colorado. Sing along with roving carolers and warm up with hot cocoa and cider. Watch with wide-eyed wonder as thousands of twinkling lights burst through the darkness transforming the hotel and the courtyard into an instant wonderland.
